To make hole shovel pick axe and shovel to remove charcoal. Water to cool charcoal.

Huge metal drum, ax, saw, chainsaw, wood and a shovel to remove charcoal and lots of water to cool charcoal. (may also need to cut the metal drum.)

Hardwood is better for forging. Softwood is better for bio char.

Making Charcoal – Resilience. When making charcoal you lose 50 to 40 % volume and about 75% weight.
