SparkQuest

SparkQuest is a SciFi Metagame1 played by MagSchool in the SparkQuest Universe. It provides Lore — an interactive Mythos story — so you (the player-learner) can dream about how to weave your growth and personal mission into your future and the challenges of today.

SparkQuest Lore

Time in the SparkQuest Universe is divided into five “Books” or major story periods. Play can happen simultaneously across books in a non-linear chronology (M-Thread (s)).

Current Books

(2020-2062)
Can Magoulo’s School win the race to backup civilization before humanity — an all life on earth — becomes extinct?

(2063-2096)
Star City is a haven in a chaotic world, but deep secrets reveal that dangers lurk both within and without.

(2096-2101)
Star City is a haven in a chaotic world, but deep secrets reveal that dangers lurk both within and without.

Possible Future Books

(2101-2155)

(3109-3112)
Jaecar finds himself lost in space but discovers hope for humanity in their quest to survive.

(3112-?)
The Children of the Ark and their friends return to Earth for the ultimate showdown over the fate of humanity.

Gameplay

Gameplay for SparkQuest can occur in multiple games played on a variety of platforms in both the virtual and real worlds. The central hub of the game is the MagSchool Group (requires login) on this website where players use the Feed, Forum, and Pages on this Codex to coordinate both development and play. Players who want to play sequentially would start with the first chapter of STF.

Development

Game creation and support is handled by the SparkCrafters development community. All full players are included in this community since earlier Books do some development work for later Books as they play. The community maintains the SparkCrafters sub-group of MagSchool and the SparkQuest pages on this codex. A good place to start with dev content is on the SparkCrafters Codex page (Spoiler Alert!!).
