Unity of Science

Unity of Science is the philosophical axiom that Science is united by one set of fundamental laws which all disciplines draw from and contribute to. Many scientists think this fundamental set of laws is most accurately described by the science of physics, which in turn is searching for a TOE or MOT (Theory of Everythong / Mother of All Theories) in the unity of general relativity and quantum theory.

Implications

Hierarchy of Sciences: The sciences build on each other with physics being the most fundamental (or in some cases logic, then math, then physics), then chemistry which is the basis of biology which, in turn, is the basis for much of the ecological and social sciences.1

Consilience: Accurate evidence from independent sources tends to converge on strong conclusions. Based on Unity of Knowledge: measuring things in different ways should all show the same basic result.
