Update INDX

Update INDX is the fifth and final step in Evolution Seed creation as part of the INDX Project in the Shelter the Flame Book of the SparkQuest Metagame.

Write Your Clue(s)

Now you’re going to write your clues for players to later recover your Relic in the The Smoldering Wick Book of the game. These clues should lead the player to the Relic, but should not be easy for MARTIE to decode and and figure out. This means they should never include actual coordinates or too many actual names and facts.

  1. Navigate to the tread on the SparkCrafters forum for your mission. You’ll write your clue (or clues) here to paste into the INDX later.
  2. Write your clue or clues. You want to give enough hints about the why, what, who, and how of your Relic without giving away too many facts. Remember, the position in the INDX already gives a big clue about the time (when) and location (where) of the object. You clue should give enough of a hint that the player will know, based on the INDX and your clues, basically what they’re looking for.
  3. Check you clue for good grammar, spelling, and punctuation, and publish it as a reply on the mission thread.

Re: The Persian Immortals

Clue: Founded by the second “King of Kings,” undying unit, 10,000 strong; now marching on a palace wall. Find them, and you will find the path to their panoply.

Build and Store the INDX Record

  1. Using the X and Z kilometer calculations from your Hide Relic step, figure out home many blocks X and Z from the CRADLE center (symbolized by emerald block) to the location of your Relic. Remember, each block on the Index represents 100 square km.
  2. Once you’ve located the correct block, you need to build the Time Tower either above or below the INDX floor. If a Time Tower already exists you be able to use it or you might be required to modify. Remember different colored blocks represent different periods of time (as -/+Y). Your time period should be a Shulker Box of the appropriate color so you can store your INDX record there.
  3. If you placed a Shulker Box, you’ll need to get a blank book and write your clue in it. If there is a Shulker Box already, open it, find the book and add your clue in the next open space/page. Once you’re clue is in the book, place it back in the Shulker Box and you’re done.
