Jesus is not a lesson to be learned but a life to be lived.

Interesting, we were just talking about this in the car with the kids yesterday! We discussed how knowledge often puffs us up, and how futile it is when we are only in pursuit of more, and more knowledge. Often times we see this in students who never progress to “real life” or application. We spoke about how wisdom should be sought as it knows how to APPLY knowledge and understanding. We asked our kids, “what was the beginning of wisdom?”
We may not be the most book smart crew over here, but when we encounter new, or old, revelation we try our best to put things to action; to try new things, to take risks and be open to make mistakes. We celebrate mistakes ! Sal has 3 zones he brings the kid’s awareness to often: (1) panic zone (2) challenge zone (3) comfort zone and Raine adds in (4) sweet zone lol
He always asks the kids which zone they are in when they go to apply something. We like to encourage to be in our challenge zone. What we don’t take kindly to is over consumption of more information, or sitting with endless content. Even seemingly “good” content. What’s the point ? We can not truly be wise until we have tested it in the field of possibilities, or creation.
What i believe brings this into balance is the fear of the Lord. Because He will ask us one day, what did we do with what we’ve been given. And that should strike us with awe and reverence. A wonderful filter for me when i fall into judging/loving others or myself is the fear of the Lord. Anything that is not done in love will not last, and we can not change what and whom we don’t love. Applying this when it touches on all my “stuff” is where the work has been. For me 🫶🏼
