Bloom’s Taxonomy and Analysis
@etcetera : I was explaining the levels of cognitive development in Bloom’s Taxonomy. By cognitive domain, it means specifically thought-related (cognition), though the taxonomy also speaks to other domains.
The Taxonomy layers levels of thinking like a pyramid were one type of thinking builds on the other. Up to this point, we’ve focus on:
- Knowledge: knowing the facts
- Comprehension: knowing what the facts mean
- Application: knowing how to use a fact
Now we have to add in:
- Analysis: breaking something into its component parts and relationships
- Synthesis: recombining those parts and relationships in new arrangements
- Evaluation: determining the results of arrangements
You can check all this out in the Cognitive Domain section of with Wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloom%27s_taxonomy
