The electoral college is the system we use to elect our presidents. It is made up of 538 votes comprised of 100 senate votes and 438 house votes. We use a first past the pole voting system that only requires each candidate to have more than fifty percent of the vote. This also applies to the electoral college but we’ll to that in a second. Each state is guaranteed three votes with the rest of the votes being apportioned according to population. In most states if you get a majority of the votes you get all of the electoral votes. People usually vote in polling booths or use mail in votes.
