Ideas on Friendship Theme
“Friendship and fun” is the expressed purpose of MagSchool, but we hope that doing that has a good impact on the world. What if we do some GATs on friendship and its power to change things?
- Bullying and radicalization: Snape in Harry Potter is saved from becoming a true villain by His friendship with Lily. Ken and my friendship and preventing violence and school/mass shootings.
- Faithful are the wounds of a friend: the influence of Obi-Wan vs Palpatine on the transition of Anakin in Star Wars. My theory: Count Duku justified his evil, but Darth Vader knew he was wrong – perhaps from Obi-Wan – and that was key in defeating the Empire and Anakin’s redemption. How does friendship help us see the flattering lie for what it is even if that means having to embrace a tough truth?
- A cord of three strands: What’s your favorite Co-op experience? @Etcetera and my co-op journey through Halo MCC on heroic. What’s the third strand? Did our relationship get deeper while building MagSchool?

- Closer than a brother: Arbiter’s fall from grace, discovery of the truth about the Covenant, and partnership with Master Chief (laying the foundation of him becoming ruler of the Sangehili [sp?]). Sometimes friendship is thicker than blood and supports and accepts you even when family, social group, and culture will not. Aunt Bob, growing up the black-sheep, and the importance of acceptance.
