This is a typing test of the Logitech K330 keyboard.
Our school encountered an issue typing or using the Logitech K330 wireless keyboard this past week. This is a test to see if this keyboard has issues typing. Sometimes a keyboard wears out, but there are other potential causes to a keyboard not typing or lagging while typing.
TEST: The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.
- A javascript or other script in your browser is causing the issue. Browsers generally use a lot of scripts whenever you type on a webpage. This could relate to spell checkers, exploit prevention, or other purposes. When these scripts have client-side or server-side problems, the result will be a lag in typing. This seems to happen occasionally with the our website, especially with the Firefox spell checking feature. To check if this is the case, switch to another browser and try on the same site. For example, on Ubuntu, switch to Chromium. You can also open a local text editor like LibraOffice Writer and see if typing is lagged there.
- The USB buffer is jammed with log messages. Sometimes, other a long
period of time, a keyboard will create an invisible log of lots of
system messages. These messages build up in the USB buffer file and
slow down the read-write on the file leading to a typing lag. This
especially happens when the keyboard doesn’t load correctly on start-up
or mis-loads when the computer comes off suspend. The more suspends,
the higher the chances of this happening. First thing to try: move the
receiver to a new USB port to start a new buffer. Second thing to try:
completely restart the computer.
