  What is the effect of social media on mental health

  I spent an hour researching this topic and found a plethora of things. I’ve collected two videos and an article on this topic and will now give you a summary. It is largely recognized that there are dark parts of media, and what most of these say is that it’s less about shutting off media entirely and more about teaching people to self-regulate and to stop connecting their self-worth to these media platforms. In the article it talks about how social media is like alcohol and I think it’s a very compelling comparison. In one of the videos Bailey Parnell talks about what causes the most stress, anxiety, etc, and how best to combat it. The other is a discussion that takes place on CBN and is with the author of the article previously mentioned talking about the problem and making some more good comparisons and the article itself is about recognizing the problem. I would recommend watching the videos and reading the article yourself.
