Hostile Mobs Not Spawning; Used /Reload to Fix
With the server set to Survival and the difficulty set to Normal the following issues with hostile mobs were present:
- hostile mobs didn’t spawn naturally near players, though friendly mobs did.
- hostile mobs could not be spawned using the /summon command even by an op, though the command worked for friendly mobs.
- hostile mobs could not be spawned from eggs, even by ops.
After hours of research, I found a thread that said using /reload instead of restarting the server worked (in the case of the thread, it was due to problems with a custom plugin). This thread said the problem was likely with worldInitEvent, which runs on restarts but not on reloads.
Using /reload fixed all the above issues. Time will tell if they return.
