How Do I File Taxes?
@blackout has been asking me about filing taxes. He points out that many students go all the way through school without learning how to do this for themselves, and since everyone pretty much will have to file taxes in their lives, this doesn’t make sense. Good point! Tax season is a little bit ahead of us, but we can definitely get the jump on it and starting working on the topic as part of our Thursday/Might space especially because it has both to do with Economics and Civics.
Let’s start by getting acquainted with the basic concepts and terms for filing taxes. There are numerous resources out there for this, but let’s start by checking out Easy Peasy Finance’s Basics of Income Tax, authored by 13-yr-old Rishi Vamdatt. Sign up for the course and complete it, then tell me what you think in the comments section. We’ll plan our next steps from there.
I think the course was a bit easy, it told me some stuff but not really anything about how to file taxes just answering some questions.
Thanks for the valuable feedback. Let’s see what @BlackoutKnight has to say about it. We can always find a more detailed resource.
