“Show Love” : My 4 Columns

Love is the center of the Gospel and life with God. This isn’t fuzzy feelings and batting eye-lashes. It’s investing in other people for their good and growth that creates a different world to God’s glory.

Instructions:

1. Take a piece of paper and fold it three times to make 4 columns.
2. Label the first column “who”, the second “grace”, the third “space”, and the fourth “loyalty”.
3. Place the names of people you care about (friends, family, neighbors, etc) in the who column.
4. For each person, write a way you will (pick one or more actions):
   • “grace” — give them something on their level (a gift, an insight, a help, etc.)
   • “space” — make space for them in your time, attention, or heart
   • “loyalty” — stick with them no matter the situation or outcome

Application: Use the 4 Columns to “Show Love” to people you care about and want to see grow and advance. During the Camp week, use this tool to set your agenda for investments in individual staff and campers. Use the tool with your cabin, especially as the end of Cabin Devo, teaching campers to be intentional in their investments in others. You can also use this tool at home to stay on your game with family, friends, neighbors, and ministry.

Showing Love is the center and back-bone of ministry at Camp and beyond. All the other ideas and skills will build onto this foundation by answering the question: what’s the best way to love people?
