AV Dojo | 12/6/23 Notes and Recap
For our second Dojo session we really dug into the shape of [4] In/Out Growth — our community’s current position on The Journey Map. This shape is [4] The Quad and it is a map of growth in all dynamic systems — especially living systems since they evolve.
We spent a lot of time talking about the Quad version [4] Human Growth that outlines the life cycle and development needs of humans. We talked about the needs of the “Liminal Transition” — the need to leave the community and one’s identity of childhood to go into a space of disorientation and discover one’s adult identity that then gets reoriented into the community. I want to outline a couple of important notes here:
* Commercial Consumerism creates the liminal path in typical mainstream teen culture where teens seek space away from family and community to consume more and more adult products and experiences.
* In order to profit from this exponentially — corporations have engineered this liminal pathway with a very week (if any) return to family/community — in fact they fight to remove the role of community so the new adult does not return to is but rather ends up as a consumer attached to the corporation.
* This phenomenon is mostly responsible for “Liminoid Permanence” — people getting stuck in teen-like fluid identity in The Storm of Complexity / Trans-human Revolution raging around the two ascending/emerging world-view paradigms: Systems VS and Universe VS
We also talked about cross-systems integration by looking at hacker-type ethics of [4] The Four Rules inspired by the ethics of Jesus and how this would apply to designing pathways to raise our children.
At the end of this session we spoke about the importance of greeting and seeing youth in our community space (@Dunamis does great at this) as it is essential to their [1] Emergence and Belonging.
